Help

Answers to the questions people ask most.

Saving links

How do I save a link?

Tap Share in the app you are using and choose Links. The link goes straight into your library.

You can also copy a link and open Links to save it automatically. To type one in, tap the + button at the bottom of Home.

Links is not in the share sheet

Tap More at the end of the app row in the share sheet and add Links.

Why do I see “Allow Paste”?

iOS asks when Links tries to read something you copied in another app. Links reads it only if you allow it, and does not save anything that is not a link.

You can change this in Settings › Apps › Links › Paste from Other Apps.

Organizing and Trash

How do I add or reorder categories?

Create categories in Settings › Manage categories. Touch and hold to reorder, or swipe left to delete.

Can I get back a link I deleted?

Deleted links stay in the Trash for 30 days. Restore them from Settings › Trash. After 30 days they are removed automatically.

Sync and backup

I want the same library on another device

Turn on Settings › iCloud Sync to see your links and categories on Apple devices that use the same iCloud account.

Profile photos, read status, settings and thumbnail files are not synced.

Can I move my links to a new device?

If iCloud sync is on, turn on sync on the new device with the same iCloud account.

Without sync, create a file with Settings › Export backup and use Import backup on the new device. The backup is encrypted with a password you choose. If you forget it, the file cannot be opened.

Can the operator see my saved links?

No. Your library is stored on your device. With iCloud sync on, it is stored only in your own private iCloud space.
